OLR: Poltergeist III (1988)

I love the mirror theme and the evil duplicates that live therein, though the happy ending is awfully sad when you realize why Carol Anne doesn't show her face in the final shot. (7/10)

d. Gary Sherman

OLR: Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986)

The casting of Reverend Kane is the sole exceptional aspect of this dull film. (5/10)

OLR: Poltergeist (1982)

Now was it the pot smoking or the excessive TV-watching that caused the ghosts to make that dude rip his own face off? (7/10)

OLR: The Exorcist III (1990)

Blatty writing lines for both George C. Scott and Brad Dourif to chew on was quite the treat. (7/10)

OLR: Teen Wolf Too (1987)

Screenplay find and replace: "Scott" with "Todd," "high school" with "college," "basketball" with "boxing" and "fun" with "incredibly boring." (4/10)

OLR: Live Free or Die Hard (2007)

Some excellent action set pieces (SUV vs elevator! semi vs jet!) marred by a Hollywood "hack the planet" storyline (Kevin Smith as a hacker who literally lives in his mother's basement… arrgh). (6/10)

d. Len Wiseman

OLR: Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995)

McTiernan returns to show us how to rip off the first movie with it even feeling like it. (8/10)

Nothing better than showing a good movie to a friend who hasn't seen it. (9/10)

OLR: House on Haunted Hill (1959)

Similar to other movies of this budget, genre and era, but with just a little something that makes it special (Vincent Price, the score, that creepy lady?). (6/10)

d. William Castle

OLR: Blade: Trinity: Extended Version (2004)

Dracula fleeing like a little girl the first time he meets Blade is only one of an uncountable number of pieces awfulness in this franchise-destroyer. (4/10)

d. David S. Goyer

OLR: Blade II (2002)

Six years later, despite some flaws in plotting and the choreography of the digital stuntmen, I still like this movie a whole lot better than anyone else on the planet, apparently. (8/10)

d. Guillermo del Toro
